Pacific Sands Resort Wedding in Tofino. Ahhh just typing that out gets me so excited because it’s one of my favourite places to have a wedding. Why you might ask? That’s where I got married in 2010. So when Katie and Donovan asked me to take their wedding photos at Pacific Sands I was over the moon! I had always hoped that one day I’d have the chance to photograph a wedding there and my wish finally came true this month. I’m behind on blogging weddings from last year, but I can’t help sharing a few sneak peeks (okay maybe more than a few!). The resort was sold to new owners recently and they now rent out the previous owners house (hello dream house!). It’s called the Sunset House on Rosie Bay and it’s at the tail end of the resort. It’s absolutely PERFECT for an intimate wedding. The views from the deck are unreal (see the 3rd photo below). K & D had about 20 guests (mostly close family).
The ceremony was originally to be held outside on the house lawn, but in true west coast fashion the clouds opened up at the downpour of rain began. It wasn’t a big deal though because there was lots of room inside to have the ceremony. The Sunset House has panoramic ocean views through the windows so it was almost like being outside anyways, minus getting wet. I also have to say the light in this house is ahhhhmazzzzing! Basically a photographers dream. The large windows everywhere and abundance of white in the home makes for pretty pictures( Hello light, bright and airy!). Their wedding planner Suzanne from West Coast Weddings and Events made sure the day went so smoothly (Thank you Suzanne! She’s been planning and coordinating events for many years. If you’re looking for a great planner in the area make sure you contact her). Katie’s hair and makeup was done by the talented ladies from Salty Dolls Salon in Tofino. I have so many favourites from this wedding and I will do another blog post when I’m finished editing this wedding and caught up on blogging 😉
