Sun, sand and two amazing people tying the knot! It doesn’t get much better than that! When Hannah & Brad contacted me to photograph their destination wedding in Mexico I couldn’t say no. I LIVE for warm weather. Seriously. I wish I could shoot sunny beach weddings every day. No, I will never get tired of it.
When Hannah mentioned they were from Prince George we immediately had lots to talk about. I lived up north for a number of years, and we have family up there. We go back every once in awhile and during a trip up north I had a chance to meet them for coffee. After meeting them in person I was even more excited. They are genuine, sweet and a whole lot of fun! They invited their closest family and friends to celebrate their nuptials at the Now Sapphire Resort in Cancun, Mexico. I love destination weddings because you really get to spend more time with the couple! It’s so rare you get to hang out with your bride and groom on the days leading up to their wedding. Destination weddings are different! A few days prior to the wedding My husband and I had some afternoon tropical drinks in the pool with Hannah and Brad. I wish every wedding was like that!
When the day of the wedding arrived Hannah and her girls spent time getting ready at the resort spa. After that there were some mimosas and tequila shots back at the villa before putting the dresses on. Brad and his groomsmen spent time getting ready at Brad’s dad’s villa. These guys were hilarious. Between their funny group poses and jokes, there was never a shortage of laughter. The resort Wedding Planner Juan Carlos Castillo ensured the day went off without a hitch. From the beautiful ceremony to the amazing food – Everything was taken care of. The ceremony took place on beach overlooking the ocean. After the ceremony we captured group photos and moved into the reception. The dinner was held on a stunning open patio that overlooked the water. Their were cute string lights hung above the tables (LOVE THESE). Shooting a reception under the stars was a real treat! Even on the best summer days in Vancouver we often don’t get to photograph non-covered receptions due to the chances of rain. I hope you enjoy looking through Hannah & Brad’s Wedding Photos! I will be posting their post-wedding cenote shoot in a few days, so make sure you come back to see those.
