Dustin & Lorie- Vancouver Engagement

Picture this: a warm cloudy day, a beautiful park, spring flowers, the ocean and sky rises surrounding you. Where can you find all of that? At George Wainborn Park in Vancouver! It’s located  right downtown Vancouver. You can actually see Granville Island from across the water. Pretty sweet spot! It poured off and on as I drove downtown but luckily the rain faded in time for our session. (If you’ve been following my facebook page you’ll know that Dustin & Lorie’s friend Jasmine bought them an Engagement Session as a gift. Jasmine you are such a sweet friend!) I walked around the whole park before Dustin & Lorie arrived. When they showed up they were looking stylish! I used to work with Dustin and it was nice to see him again. This was my first time meeting is lovely fiance Lorie. She was such a doll! After meeting her I could see instantly why Dustin would want to spend forever with her. She is so sweet and they make such a great match! I have to throw in that her hair and makeup looked absolutely stunning! She had a trial done pre-wedding (don’t worry it’s not going to look exactly like it did on their big day). When Dustin decided to pop the question he coordinated a very special proposal for Lorie and here it is in her words below:

“Every week Dustin and I would try to make a habit of going on a date. This particular night Dustin seemed really eager to take me for a romantic dinner. I was not too keen as I was so exhausted from helping my sister move all day that I wanted to just stay home, order in dinner & relax. After many attempts to persuade me, we ended up ordering in our favourite meal and settled for a quiet romantic dinner at home. While enjoying a drink together Dustin suggested we enjoy one of our special dessert wines we had bought this Thanksgiving at an Okanagan winery. I opened the freezer and sitting beside the dessert wine was a sparkling diamond ring. I was speechless (for once!) I just gasped & didn’t know what to say until a “yes” managed to come out of my mouth. It didn’t dawn on me that he didn’t even ask yet. He then took the box from my hand and got down on one knee, my heart fluttering, and proposed. I can’t think of a more perfect way for him to have proposed.
Later he told me he had gone the night before to my parents house and asked permission to marry me. Chivalry is not dead!!”
Dustin & Lorie are getting married this upcoming September at Morgan Creek. I’m sure your day will be nothing short of amazing. Wishing you many years of love & ice wine toasts!
